Why does he have so many turkeys?

Every day as I drive past one of my neighbour’s houses, I have to be sure not to run over one of the many turkeys walking around outside. Yes turkeys.

He has kept them in a huge cage but usually they are walking around ‘gobble gobble gobbling’ and they don’t seem to be too worried about being run over. Even when I honk to get them to move out of the way, they ignore me and move only if they are in the mood to.

But why the hell does he have so many turkeys I wonder? Is he planning to celebrate Thanksgiving in a major way or is he breeding them so as to make a bundle by selling them close to Thanksgiving? Tough call actually. Maybe I should ask him.:)

My guess is that the person is running a small farm.

Many months ago i went to a food exhibition in Karachi and they were promoting turkeys as a financially profitable venture.

Maybe the person went to such exhibitions got the idea from there.

Since the person is your neighbor, it your job to stop wondering and say hello while asking if your hunch is correct.

We have a bunch too! They are beautiful and we have no intentions of doing anything with them except enjoy the wonder of nature. Let his turkeys go, there is plenty of turkey in the store.
