The Confiz team talks candidly on ITLoW

Meeting the CEO and CTO of Confiz Solutions, was a pleasure indeed. Neither Raza Saeed nor Syed Ali were aware that I was dropping in with my secret weapon, the Pure Digital Flip Video. But you know something? Obviously they are used to dealing with all sorts of surprises because they breezed through the interview like the pros they are :).

Confiz Solutions is based in Lahore and specializes in building web applications. They have launched several successful applications built on Ruby on Rails and PHP, content management systems using Joomla and Drupal, e-commerce applications and social networking applications built on Facebook and OpenSocial platforms.

During our visit to their office (Imran Zia Chairman of P@SHA was my co-host for this interview), Raza and Ali took us through a quick journey of the growth of Confiz since its inception in 2005. Having started as a custom service shop for web application development, they have now expanded and have clearly divided the company into two distinct divisions – one which develops products and applications for clients and the second which develops in-house products that are then marketed to local and foreign customers.

One of the useful applications that they have developed is Simplicant.

This is a simple, web-based applicant tracking system for small to medium sized companies. It lets businesses organize their hiring data in one place, and provides powerful tools to organize, sort and filter candidates in order to find the right candidates quickly and easily.

Another one is an SMS-based social application which is being used by Ufone under the name Ufone SMS Buddies in Pakistan. They have also sold it to Zainn in Bahrain where local language has been added on as an option.

Imran Zia and I enjoyed our meeting and interview with Raza and Ali and we will certainly follow these young men with a great deal of interest.
