Rabia sings one of the TBTT songs

Please sing along. Rabia Garib will hear you I promise. 🙂

She is still working on the first song that Bina Shah wrote. I am sure we will have something by the end of the day today (yes yes these are pressure tactics). Seriously, though, thank you very much Rabia for taking time out and being part of the TBTT campaign.

Lovely song and beautiful voice Rabia! I just wonder if many people will know what Take Back the Tech means? Of course I am all for women’s rights and no abuse but the title is not very clear. Good luck to you and everyone in the campaign.

Rabia, Hidden talent….great song and you sound so Janis Joplin-like! Agree with Joanna, if this is to be shared far and wide something more on TBTT must accompany.

@Joanna thanks for your comment. The TakeBacktheTech campaign is a global one and hence the title. What it means is that women/girls need to take control of technology to steer it for their benefit. It is a bit difficult to explain in a song. The song is just one element of a campaign that has been running for the past two weeks. Check out takebackthetech.net

@Samina hey good to have you back on my blog. Hope you are well. Yes Rabia is indeed a young woman with many talents. The TBTT campaign is running in Pakistan for the first time and it has gathered so much steam and created a lot of awareness. Perhaps next time we can customize it further so that it sends out a clearer message. Thanks for the comment.

I love your voice Rabia, I am singing along in Mexico, can you hear me? I think it’s best to hum, tho, as my voice is definitely not of your caliber!

@Erika glad you like the song. We would have liked to tweak and fine-tune it but decided it was better to put it up, share it.
